You can use some home remedies to reduce cough:

Honey: Antioxidant and antibacterial properties of honey help in reducing cough. Mix one spoon of honey in lukewarm water and drink it daily. Or drink liqueur tea mixed with honey and lemon juice.

Tulsi: Tulsi leaves contain vitamin C and zinc, which help reduce inflammation and boost immunity. You can chew three to four basil leaves daily. Or you can mix basil juice with honey or drink it in tea. Tulsi tea is also available.

Garlic: The allicin component of garlic has a beneficial role in killing germs. Eat some garlic cloves with salad every day or mix garlic cloves in hot soup.

Ginger: Ginger also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which helps to clear phlegm. Grind ginger and boil it in water and drink that water or mix ginger and lemon juice in liquor tea and drink it.

Drink plenty of fluids to reduce cough. For example, drink hot soup, masala water, ginger-lemon tea, herbal tea etc. repeatedly. Also gargle with hot salt water, take hot water steam. For gargling, mix half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of lukewarm water. Avoid smoking.
